Senator Rafferty, Attorney General Host Roundtable on Child Predator Efforts, Unveil State Forensics Truck

Senator John Rafferty (R-44), Attorney General Kathleen G. Kane, agents from the Child Predator Section, and Representative Mike Vereb (R-150) recently met with local, county and state law enforcement stakeholders to discuss efforts to combat child predators and unveil a new state forensics truck.

The event was held Wednesday, August 20, in Upper Providence.  Nearly two dozen government and law enforcement officials from surrounding municipalities also attended the briefing and toured the new command/forensics truck, which investigators can use on the scene to track child predators and intake evidence quickly.

Rafferty, Vereb and other state legislators worked to secure $300,000 in state funding for the trucks. Rafferty said the mobile labs will provide law enforcement officials with a critical new tool in the field.

“This new technology allows investigators to interview child predators and witnesses right at the crime scene and gather critical evidence,” he said.  “It provides another resource that can make a difference in solving crimes and getting child predators off the streets.”
