Statement by Senate Appropriations Committee Chairman Jake Corman on the Governor’s Proposed Budget for 2014-15

Today marks the beginning of the Commonwealth’s annual appropriations process. The Governor’s Budget address represents the initial step in the timeline to meet the Constitutional requirement of a balanced budget by June 30.  Beginning Monday, February 10th and continuing through February 26th, the Senate Appropriations Committee will thoroughly review the Governor’s proposal.  As Chair of the Appropriations Committee, I take this process very seriously and look forward to providing detailed accounting and proper oversight of the Commonwealth’s budget.  Please be aware that all budget information, including live streaming videos of Senate Appropriations Committee testimony, archived testimony, as well as the Governor’s proposed budget can be viewed from my website at
